RESILIENCY CONSULTANT
Marine Tiger is looking for candidates that are dynamic and engaging and will thrive in an energetic and fast-paced environment. This position performs business, data and process analysis of a complex nature in coordination with and support of the Marine Tiger Group Lead. The work includes leading and facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions; documenting existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement; and developing business plans to implement those changes across one or more concurrent projects. The consultant must be well organized and focused on delivering superior value to their customers.
Location: Bos-Wash Corridor (Boston to Washington) preferred
Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
Performance Evaluation: The resiliency consultant’s performance will be measured by the timeliness and quality of their deliverables, teamwork and customer engagement.

Job Description
We are currently seeking a resiliency and emergency preparedness consultant to join our nationwide team. This position will support all-hazards risk assessment, mitigation planning, and development of policies and procedures on behalf of critical infrastructure clients. The successful candidate will understand a variety of risks including those related to climate change and their potential impact on critical infrastructure. This role is remote and will support nationwide projects with other team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform critical infrastructure-based risk assessments focusing on climate change, malevolent threats, natural hazards, and other dependency and technology hazards.
- Develop threat (climate, malevolent, natural) scenarios, and assess potential risks infrastructure and operations.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify the vulnerability of planned infrastructure and the potential effects on the area and people.
- Review existing design standards and standard operating procedures to ensure resilience against additional impacts from extreme storms and changing climatic conditions and provide strategic recommendations.
- Collect and analyze existing climate change data as well as climate change and disaster risk assessments and reports and synthesize existing information and potential gaps.
- Develop strategic, operational, and tactical plans to reduce risk, increase resilience, and foster effective emergency preparedness.
- Collaborate with clients and external partners to identify possible adaptation options to address impacts, risks, and vulnerability.
- Represent clients in regional climate change adaptation discussions and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.
- Collaborate with private and public sector agencies and other stakeholders to develop coordinated strategies and to align expectations regarding roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitate virtual and in person planning meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, natural resource/environmental planning, policy, geology, environmental science or studies, or a related field with technical training/experience in emergency planning.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in risk analysis, climate change and disaster impact, vulnerability, and adaptation.
- Demonstrated understanding of the application of climate data to the assessment of infrastructure and operational vulnerabilities.
- Ability to work seamlessly across various stakeholders such as multiple state agencies and vendors
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills & business acumen
- Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Dynamic, engaging candidate; detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to ask the right questions to discover client needs and adapt communication style to speak with all organization levels
- Experience driving the development of high quality, detailed deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Technically fluent
- Experience in an asset intensive industry a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with FEMA or state and local emergency management agencies or in critical infrastructure sectors, such as power, water, or transportation.
- Prior experience performing risk assessment and risk mitigation.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure design plans and specifications.
- Experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping systems.
- Team and consensus building skills.

Pay Range
Multiple factors are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role, education, and certifications. The annual pay range for this position is: $130,000 – $150,000
